Old Captiva House is one of my favorite restaurants on the island. It recently got renovated in a very classy and cozy island style. As part of the charming ‘Tweens Waters Inn Resort & Spa it serves as the fine dining option of the resort. Here is what you want to know about Old Captiva House.
Location of Old Captiva House
Old Captiva House is located across the street from the beach. This means you could come for sunset and walk over to the restaurant for dinner afterwards. The restaurant has two rooms: a big one located at the back and one facing the beach. There is also an outdoor dining area at the site. So if you want to watch the Gulf of Mexico during your meal, you need to request a table in the smaller room. In case you stay on Captiva Island and have access to a golf cart, try to ride your golf cart to Tweenwater’s restaurant.

Best Time to Dine at Old Captiva House
Personally, I like to come for breakfast or a late dinner. The reason is that these times are much more quiet and it is also a little easier to find parking closer to the restaurant. For breakfast information, please check our Captiva Breakfast Guide.
Old Captiva House Menu
Old Captiva House is a great spot for seafood on Captiva Island. Please check their current menu here. Their Homemade Lobster Ravioli are an excellent starter but my favorite is their Deconstructed Spicy Tuna Roll. For everyone who loves to live a healthy lifestyle, the Wedge Salad is a great option. As an entree I highly recommend the “Cioppino (Fisherman’s Stew)”. Amazing selection of seafood and great taste. If you want a local fish, try the Grouper or Blackened Snapper. In my opinion, Old Captiva House is the best place for seafood on Captiva Island.
Old Captiva House Dining Reservation
Because Old Captiva House is the fine dining spot on Captiva and visited by many Tweenwater Resort guests, we highly recommend making a reservation. It is easy to do via opentable.com and saves waiting time.
Old Captiva House Service
Old Captiva House has very nice and well trained staff. Just keep in mind that especially during season, the restaurant can get very busy. So please be patient. On Captiva, most people are on island time.
In case the kitchen gets busy, you can be sure that your server will bring some fresh-baked rolls and some olive oil mixed with a lovely spice mix.
Dress Code
Normally, there is no dress code at the restaurants of Captiva Island. But in the case of Old Captiva House, you might want to consider dressing up a little. Smart casual is the best way to describe your choice of clothing for dinner.
