Captiva Chapel By the Sea
The Captiva Chapel by the Sea is situated adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico beach and among palm, seagrape, and gumbo limbo trees, the building was originally constructed in 1903 for use as a county schoolhouse. Regularly scheduled Sunday services began in 1948. Like the Island Store it is one of Captiva`s historic sites.
