Love Boat Ice Cream – Our Number 1 Ice Cream on Sanibel Island
Love Boat Ice Cream is one of the best and most famous ice cream places in Southwest Florida. The Love Boat Ice Cream location on Sanibel Island is located off Periwinkle Way in the Jerry’s Foods Plaza. Easy to park and great to stop by the parrots that live in this plaza. Love Boat Ice Cream has been locally owned and operated since 1967. The location on San Carlos Boulevard in Fort Myers has huge lines during the season. The Sanibel location is much faster and offers over 85 homemade seasonal or classic ice cream flavors. Their banana split blows you away and feeds an entire family!
The Sanibel location is open till 9.00 pm. If you want ice cream after 9.00 you could take the drive over the Sanibel Causeway to their Fort Myers location to get your treat. (you will need to add the toll to your ice cream price) For everyone who loves to lead a healthy lifestyle, try one of the Low Fat Sugar Free flavors.
Joey’s Custard – Number 2 of Best Ice Cream Places on Sanibel
Joey’s Custard is perfect for everyone who is located at the North end of Sanibel Island or comes down from Captiva Island to get some ice cream. It is located in the Bailey’s Shopping Plaza and parking is also relatively easy. Another big plus are Joey’s Custard’s opening hours. Monday – Thursday they close at 9.30 and Friday and Saturday they serve their customers till 10.00 am.
The owners are locals and Erik volunteers in one of the local church youth groups. Sometimes you can find coupons to save a dollar on your next ice cream cone! Joey’s Custard also serves hot drinks, frozen yogurts and home made custards.
Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream
Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream has been owned by the Puma family since 2007. It is located off Periwinkle Way in the Periwinkle Place Shopping Center which means you get a chance to check out some of the local stores on your way! Open till 9.00 seven days per week, our favorite flavors are dirty sand dollar and wedding bells. Every ice cream gets an animal cracker on top!
Sanibel Deli & Coffee Factory – Queenies Ice Cream
Sanibel Deli & Coffee Factory is not a typical Ice Cream place and thus has limited flavors and options. But it serves locally made Queenies Ice Cream – homemade in Fort Myers. It is located off of Palm Ridge Rd. on Sanibel across the street from CVS and a little hidden. Toasted Coconut and Black Raspberry Chip are our favorites. If you enjoy Queenies Ice Cream you can also buy it at the local stores like the Island Store on Captiva for example.
